Used Scissor Lift Prices and DDP Thailand Import Guide: 6–12 m Reference Bands and the Container-Load Advantage (2026)

The short answer first: in China's 2026 used aerial-work-platform market, reference bands by working height are roughly — 6–8 m electric scissor lifts (Dingli JCPT0607/0808, Sinoboom GTJZ0408/0608 and similar; SWL ~320 kg, 24 V battery drive) at RMB 15,000–35,000; 10–12 m units (JCPT1012/1212) at RMB 25,000–55,000; used imported brands such as the Genie GS-1930/2646 and JLG 1930ES/2646ES at RMB 40,000–90,000. Rough-terrain diesel scissor lifts (12–15 m, e.g. JCPT1418/1523RT) run about RMB 60,000–120,000. These are market reference bands; the binding number depends on condition and the inspection report.

Why this is the most ocean-freight-efficient category in used machinery: folded, an electric scissor stands about 1.8–1.9 m tall on a footprint of roughly 2.5×1.2 m — 2–3 units per 20-foot container, 6–8 per 40-foot high cube. That puts per-unit ocean freight in the low hundreds of USD, compared with one 20-ton excavator per flat rack — an order-of-magnitude difference. The South-China-to-Bangkok leg takes 5–10 days, and for batch orders of 10 units or more the DDP uplift can often be held to 10–15%, making this the cheapest way for rental fleets to restock.

Duties and voltage: aerial work platforms fall under HS 8428 — an ITA product with 0% MFN duty in Thailand and 7% VAT on the CIF value. Electric models are battery-powered with 220 V single-phase chargers — the same standard as Thailand, so they are plug-and-play; for diesel rough-terrain units, just note Thai diesel quality and filter spec. The structure is simple and there is no emission-certification barrier (far below motor-vehicle requirements), so clearance feels like ordinary machinery. Confirm classification with your customs broker.

Use cases and payback logic: scissor lifts are the standard tool for warehousing, factory maintenance, mall fit-outs, signage, and airports or stations; daily rental in the Bangkok area is roughly THB 800–1,500 per day for an 8–12 m electric unit (reference only). A 12 m scissor imported at around RMB 30,000 typically pays back in one to two years at 50% utilization — which is why ASEAN rental fleets have been restocking from China in batches. Prefer electric models: indoor work dominates in Thailand, electric means zero emissions and low noise, and battery upkeep costs less than a diesel engine.

Inspection checklist (electric scissor specific): one, the battery — ask lead-acid or lithium, cycle count and replacement history; battery aging is the biggest hidden cost in a used scissor; two, hydraulics — full raise/lower cycles watching for leaks and creep, inspect the scissor-arm pins and cylinders; three, safety devices — pothole protection, tilt alarm, emergency lowering, and platform-extension locks must each be demonstrated; four, controls — joystick/proportional control, fault-code display, charger function; five, nameplate and serial — matching the export documents, with the manufacturing year confirmed (it drives valuation and clearance). Pay 30% deposit and 70% after a passed pre-container inspection.

Bottom line: used electric scissor lifts are the 'low unit value, high container density, zero-modification' category — order 10 or more and freight amortizes to nearly nothing, with DDP Bangkok landing at roughly cost-plus-10%.
